ODM party leader has dismissed claims that the 2017 election is his last 'bullet' to the presidency saying the polls are not about him but Kenya.

The former Prime Minister who spoke during a live TV interview on Citizen TV on Thursday night said he his going to approach the 2017 elections with several 'bullets' comparing himself to the US president-elect Donald Trump.

"This election is not about me, it is about Kenya. Some people keep saying it is my last bullet, but you know one cannot just go to war with one bullet. I still have several bullets and even in this elections, I am going into it with several bullets," he said.

"They have also been saying that Raila is old but even Trump who is my age-mate is going to be a leader of a country 50 times bigger than Kenya," he added.

Raila asked Kenyans to vote for leaders on merit and not age in the coming elections saying he was optimistic he would deliver to Kenyans if given the opportunity to lead the country.

"To me, it is the ideas and ideals that somebody has that should determine if he/she should be elected president, and I am ready to serve the people of Kenya if they give me the chance to lead them," he said.
