According to the Kikuyu lawmaker, Jubilee government will retain power in 2017 under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking when he inspected development projects in Kikuyu Constituency  on Monday, Ichung’wa said that opposition’s tactics to unseat Uhuru in 2017 will not work.

The lawmaker observed that Kenyans believe in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government and will re-elect him in next year's polls.

The MP accused the Raila Odinga led opposition of spewing propaganda against the Uhuru Kenyatta government.

“The opposition already knows that it is done deal for 2017 and Uhuru Kenyatta will be re-elected and that  is why its  (opposition) keen to discredit the government development agenda,” he said.

Ichung’wa claimed that the opposition cannot offer the kind of leadership the Jubilee government has achieved for the last four years.

He asked opposition leaders to concede defeat saying that they have no numbers to match Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party.

The MP laughed off the opposition proposed Super Alliance saying that it will not change things and  that Kenyans know the leaders they want.

At the same time, the vocal Kikuyu lawmaker criticised Raila’s appeal for funding from western countries.

Ichung’wa said that Raila is seeking financial support and influence of western countries because he has already sensed defeat.

The MP claimed that the opposition has resulted to soliciting campaign money ahead of the 2017 elections.

“The opposition wants to seek influence of western countries because they know they will be defeated in 2017,” he claimed.
