With only six months to the August 8 general election, many politicians are aiming to make a come back onto the political scene with a bang having nearly disappeared into political oblivion.
Former South Mugirango MP Omingo Magara who unsuccessfully vied for the Kisii County gubernatorial seat in 2013 on the PDP ticket, losing to Governor James Ongwae of ODM, is planning to contest for the region's senatorial seat.
Magara is currently the chairman of the Kenyatta Convention Conference Centre.
On the other hand, it will not be business as usual in Muhoroni constituency as former MP Ayiecho Olweny plans to square it out with the incumbent, James Onyango Oyoo who recently joined the ODM.
Prof Olweny represented the constituency since 2004 following the death of Job Omino and lost to Oyoo in the 2013 elections despite being in the Orange party which has a huge following in the region.
In the neighbouring Migori County, former Suna East MP John Pesa wants to return to politics too.
The former legislator wants to unseat the firebrand ODM Director of Elections Junet Mohammed who made history when he became the first Somali to be elected to the National Parliament in the region.
In Homa Bay, former Rangwe MP Martin Otieno Ogindo who until recently was Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero's advisor on governance has declared that he will be in the race for the county's gubernatorial seat currently held by ODM's Cyprian Awiti.
However, his choice of the party may prove to be his set back even as he endears himself to the voters.
In the Western region, Raphael Wanjala, the former Budalang'i MP has not been left behind.
The former lawmaker wants to take the advantage of the cloud of political uncertainty surrounding the incumbent Ababu Namwamba to win back the votes.
As to whether they will reinvent themselves politically remains to be seen.
Will they succeed? Will they crumble in the political turbulence that is about to hit the terrain?
