[Photo|Dr William Kingi]In a bid to have a concrete and more inclusive five year plan for Mombasa residents, the Department of Finance and Economic Planning engaged in a consultative meeting with stakeholders who sum up to be the Mombasa business community. Led by the Deputy Governor Dr. William Kingi, Finance and Economic Planning CeC Maryam Mbaruk together with other CeCs and chief officers, as well as Sub-county Administration, the county received inputs and recommendations that will be reviewed and later be infused to form the final draft of the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) 2018-2022.

Besides giving their views, the participants ranging from Kenya Association of Manufacturers, Chamber of Commerce, Matatu Owners Association, Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), National Aids Control Council (NACC) among others expressed their interest in supporting the County government in socio-economic transformation of the residents and in tackling glaring problems in the County.During the meeting with business stakeholders, Kingi said the County Integrated Development Plan will offer a clear road map to the realization of the development agenda. "We value the feedback from our business community which is the engine of our economic growth. We shall incorporate the views and suggestions from the business community in our plan as we endeavor to improve the business climate in our county," he said on Friday.
