A Jubilee Member of Parliament from the North Rift region now says the 2022 Presidential race is open to anyone.
Mosop MP Vincent Tuwei has further noted that Baringo Senator Gideon Moi is free to vie against Deputy President William Ruto in the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta who is serving his second and final term.
Speaking in his constituency on Saturday, Tuwei, however, said the choice of running mate that Moi and DP Ruto will pick will be a key determiner of who becomes the fifth President.
“I will say without fear of contradiction that either of the two can get it, but who their running mate is is what will endure Kenyans to vote them," said Tuwei.
“If the DP gets the running mate right he will get it if Gideon Moi gets it right he will get," he added.
The vocal first-term MP, however, said he is not against any of the two vying for the seat in 2022 noting that both DP Ruto and Senator Moi should be respected.
“Never talk ill of anyone either the Deputy president or Gideon Moi,” said Tuwei.
The MP also challenged locals in the Rift Valley region to avoid condemning leaders based on their backgrounds.
“I might be a hustler but my sons are not, Ruto might be a hustler but his sons are not hustlers," said the Jubilee MP
