Salat said Kanu, which supports Jubilee, has no issue with Deputy President William Ruto running for president in 2022.

He however said that as Kanu, they have their own candidate who they will front in 2022.

"I want to tell my friend Duale to go slow. They are in Jubilee and we are in Kanu, there should be no bad blood. We know they have somebody to back in 2022 and that is okay. We also as Kanu have own candidate," he said.

He added: "The two candidates will meet at the ballot."

Salat is an ally of Kanu chairman Gideon Moi who is planning to run for the top seat.

Moi's bid has caused jitters among Deputy President William Ruto's camp as they see the former as a spoiler for the rich Rift Valley vote basket.

Jubilee have been categorical that they will back Ruto in 2022.
