The Jubilee party must start from the very top if the calls to have rebel members punished are legitimate, political analyst Ruth Amboko has said.
A section of Jubilee politicians have called for punitive measures against their colleagues who supported the rival candidate in the concluded Kibra parliamentary race.
According to Amboko, the punishment if any, should begin with President Uhuru Kenyatta, the party leader, for not being of any help in the party's attempts to secure the seat.
"If there are people being expelled from Jubilee, let it begin with Uhuru since he did not give any direction, and all the others who were silent. Party rules indicate that members must be active in realising party agenda. (Kama kuna watu wanatolewa Jubilee waanze na Uhuru maana hakutoa msimamo wowote, pamoja na wale wengine walionyamaza maana sheria inasema unafaa kuwa active kuwezesha party agenda)," she said on Radio Jambo on Saturday.
Since his endorsement of Mariga in State House, the Head of State never attended any campaign meeting, with Nominated MP Maina Kamanda claiming that President Kenyatta was supporting ODM's Imran Okoth.
