According to Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit, President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto should lead the way in realising the same.

Addressing the press at the All Saints Cathedral on Wednesday, Sapit urged the two to ensure that they keep all the promises they gave to Kenyans before their re-election in the 2017 polls.

He also challenged elected leaders to play their role by channelling their Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocations towards important and beneficial projects.

"The president and his deputy should be in the front line in leading plans to implement their manifesto and promises given to Kenyans in 2017. MPs should also use the CDF fund on projects beneficial to citizens (Rais na naibu wake wawe mstari wa mbele kuongoza mipango ya kutekeleza manifesto yao na ahadi zote walizotoa kwa Wakenya mwaka 2017. Na wabunge nao watumie pesa za CDF kwa miradi yenye manufaa kwa wananchi),” he said.

He also urged leaders to conduct themselves in ways that will positively influence Kenyans, and avoid involvement in behaviours that are not good if emulated by the country.

Sapit also called upon the clergy to join hands with the politicians to unite the country rather than further create divisions among Kenyans.

If leaders walk in the light and make good decisions then their actions will be emulatable. As religious leaders and our political colleagues, we should do things that are beneficial and no divisive (Viongozi wakitembea katika mwangaza watafanya maamuzi mazuri na vitendo vyao vitakuwa vya kupigiwa mfano. Sisi kama viongozi wa kidini na wenzetu wa kisiasa tunastahili kufanya mambo ambayo yatanufaisha jamii bali sio kuigawa)," he added.
