Former Makadara lawmaker Benson Mutura now wants the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to launch a fresh probe into Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru.
Waiguru was implicated in the 2015 National Youth Service (NYS) 1 scandal, when she was then the Devolution Cabinet Secretary, but has since been acquitted.
But speaking on Saturday, the ex-legislator stressed on the need for the case to be looked into afresh, taking issue with her lifestyle, including her alleged home worth Sh200 million.
He wondered how she managed to acquire such an expensive property after only a 2 years in government, and now wants both the DCI and DPP to take over the matter.
"Tunataka DCI na DPP waangalie mambo ya kesi za NYS na waanze na hao wa mbele. Wewe umeanza kazi ya serikali juzi umetoa wapi nyimba ya Sh200 million," he wondered.
This translates to: We want the DCI and DPP to look into the NYS cases beginning with the first one. Where did you (Waiguru) get a Sh200 million house after only working in government for a short time."
He made the remarks on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Saturday morning.
The ex-MP also questioned Waiguru's political activeeness lately, terming it a possible campaign to make Kenyans forget about her previous scandals involvements.
"She is trying to make us forget but we won't and we won't close our eyes (Anajaribu kujipendekeza eti ndio tusahau, sisi hatutasahau na hatuhafunga macho)," he added.
Waiguru has been in the front line in attempting to shape the Mt Kenya region's direction ahead of the 2022 presidentisl election.
