In a strongly-worded tweet, the straight-talking Dida hit out at President Uhuru Kenyatta over government appointments, saying the appointments do not reflect the ethnic diversity in the country.

The former presidential candidate claimed members of the Kikuyu community; the president's tribe, were being appointed to plum government positions at the expense of other communities.

"The president is preaching unity and asking Kenyans to live in peace while his government keeps on appointing Kikuyus to the boards and to be heads of almost all government parastatals and offices. For a country with almost 50 tribes, this is not fair!" Mwalimu Dida said.

His intervention comes in the context of a raging debate on what some see as the skewed government appointments.

It also comes just days after Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina decried the tribal nature of government appointments, contending that they were going to one tribe.

“Leaders were at Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi talking about BBI and the new beginning but with 48 hours, skewed appointments are happening in State parastatals, it is ridiculous,” Ledama said as quoted by Standard.

“Even before a sheep empty its urine, tribalism continues in Kenya!! This is the worst form of Government in the history of Kenya. We will proceed to court to challenge this tribalism! Kwani sisi ni guest in this country? Nonsense," he added.
