Gem Member of Parliament Elisha Odhiambo has said that the said constitutional changes are real and inevitable.
This comes amid the opposition's push for a referendum, under the leadership of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) boss Raila Odinga, which Elisha says will realize.
The ODM MP now says that the nation should prepare for a referendum which will enable it correct issues visible in the 2010 constitution to better the lives of Kenyans.
"Tutakuwa na kura ya maoni - referendum ambapo wakenya watakuwa na nafasi ya kurekebisha Katiba ndiposa tuweze kuboresha maisha ya mkenya wa kawaida," he tweeted on Wednesday.
This translates to; "We will have a referendum where Kenyans will have an opportunity to ammend the constitution to enable us better the common citizen's life."
Odinga and team have been pushing for a return to the parliamentary governance system and an expansion of the executive arm of government to include more persons.
However, the push is facing opposition from forces allied to Deputy President William Ruto who have termed it a plot to award a few election losers top state positions.
But on the other hand, it enjoys the backing of President Uhuru Kenyatta who has repeatedly endorsed calls to eliminate the current winner-takes-it-all system.
