In a tweet on Saturday, Miguna said: "Rest in Peace Mr. Karanja Kabage. The manner of your death mirrors too closely the one of Kenya's first Barrister, Chiedo More Gem Argwings Kodhek, in 1969, to be ignored. Although we know Kenyatta killed CMG, the "authorities" ruled it an "accident."

The former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant further suggested that Kabage's death may have been as a result of him being a ‘loose end’.

"The despots are clearly clearing their dirty house by getting rid of all the "loose ends" before they try to go for the kill. Will patriots allow them to destroy Kenya in order to institutionalize the culture of impunity and fortify despotism? Time will tell," he tweeted.

The National Police Service (NPS) has already issued a statement on the death of the lawyer in which the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai directed the Directorate of Criminal Investigation to institute a probe into the possible cause of death.

The lawyer died on Friday at the age of 70 while driving to his home in Karen.

He has been eulogized by prominent politicians including President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM Party leader Raila Odinga.
