Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta, with whom they founded the BBI, have since declared their commitment to making the initiative, which they say will heal the country, succeed.

But Mudavadi says that he (Raila) can still leave if he finds that it will not address what he wants as a party to the initiative, adding that he must have gotten in with his own expectations.

"It is very possible, we are all politicians and sometimes you enter into arrangements with certain realistic expectations but somewhere down the road, for some reason, realizations are not being made, it is not hard imagining a politician backing out," he said on Punchline, Sunday.

This comes only days after the release on Mudavadi's new memoirs "Soaring Above The Heights of Passion", where he portrays Raila as a cunning politician, always with a plan-B.

But Raila and team have hinted at sticking to the initiative, which they say will mark a new beginning for the country on matters national healing and political reforms.

Mudavadi had on the other hand been noncommittal on backing the document.
