National soccer team Harambee Stars put its 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign back on track with a 3-2 win over Tanzania in Group C’s second round of matches on Thursday night in Egypt.

The highlight of the match was the two goals scored by lead striker Michael Ogada Olunga in the 38th and 79th minutes.

Johanna Omollo scored in between Olunga’s strikes in the 68th minute. Olunga who plies his trade with Kashiwa Reysol in Japan, is now among the tournament’s top scorers.

He has scored two goals in two matches (he failed to score against Algeria on Sunday), same as Uganda’s Emmanuel Okwi. Okwi scored against Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on June 22, and again against Zimbabwe on June 26.

Benin’s Mickaël Poté scored both goals as his side drew 2-2 with Ghana’s Black Stars on June 25.

Adama Traoré of Mali, Carolus Andriamahitsinoro of Madagascar, Mohammed Trézéguet and Mohammed Salah both Egypt, Stéphane Bahoken of Cameroon, brothers André Ayew and Jordan Ayew both Ghana, Youssef Msakni of Tunisia, Odion Ighalo of Nigeria and Tanzania’s Mbwana Ali Samatta are a host of players who have so far scored 1 goal.

18 matches have been played so far, with 39 goals being scored. DRC, Guinea Bissau, South Africa, Burundi and Namibia are the only teams yet to score a goal in this year’s edition.
