Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to fire cabinet Secretaries frustrating his big four agenda.
On Sunday Sonko said that if the president is to succeed in his development agenda he needs dedicated cabinet Secretaries who are not busy politicking.
“If they are engaging in politics and frustrating the big four agenda then just sack them and appoint those willing to serve Kenyans,” said Sonko.
Sonko gave an example of his style of leadership how he sacked lazy and corrupt county executives
He said the big four agenda need not be sabotaged at all citing that it's one of the driving force behind the newly created movement Team Wanjikus.
The governor observed that poverty and unemployment were the key impediments to the economic development in the country.
He also asked leaders to respect and work closely with the president poking holes into the two Jubilee factions team Tanga Tanga and Kieleweke for playing politics.
“We must support the President and the ongoing war on graft if we have to achieve the desired development across the country, "said Sonko.
He stated that team Wanjikus is advocating for the allocation of more resources to counties noting that the stalemate on the Division of revenue bill needs to be handled carefully in a bid to avoid derailing the devolution agenda.
He said sh. 310 billion allocated to counties is not enough where he urged his fellow governors to continue pursuing the matter through the council of governors.
Sonko spoke in Athi river where he had been accompanied by various leaders including Mavoko MP Patrick Makau, Embakasi south mp Julius Mawathe, Gatundu South mp Moses Kuria among others.
