The suspicions come as a note detailing the reason for the suicide and a bottle of an insecticide were found next to the 23-year-old’s body.

Confirming the incident, area Administration Police (AP) boss Sergeant James Linguli said he received the information from the landlord who resides on the property where the deceased was found.

According to the landlord, he got nervous when the lady took half a day without getting out yet she has a tendency of waking up very early for her classes and cleaning chores.

Ann Waithera, a Mount Kenya University second year student, was allegedly found lying on her bed and the note said she committed suicide after her fiancé jilted her.

She had, allegedly, been engaged to Julius Murangili who worked at a food processing company  before the man lied to her and took her full semester’s fee and went away never to be found again.

The note also had the phone numbers of her dad, her fiancé and the fiancé’s parent’s contacts.

Neighbours said that the two loved each other and spent most of their time together until some days before the incident when the man stopped visiting.

Sergeant Linguli has advised youths living in the area to be careful when dealing with men who profess to love them.
