This follows Precious Talent School disaster in Dagoretti on Monday where eight pupils died and 64 other left with injuries after a classroom wall collapsed on them.

On her Twitter account, Passaris defended herself stating that she arrived at the school and organised for water, soft drinks, bread and milk.

"Really? I was there, assessed the situation, organised for water, soft drinks, bread and milk. Appreciated the boda boda and youth of Ng'ando for their heroic efforts before the disasters teams arrived. I then went about my scheduled duties ending at KNH at 7.00 pm #IRestMyCase," wrote Passaris.

She said that the tragedy forced her to come out of her sick leave despite undergoing surgery a week ago.

"Duty calls will take it easy later in the week. I could not sit at home. Took my 'crooked back out to work. This is when leadership is a sacrifice for those who put you up in office when they need you. Today was tough both emotionally and physically," she said.

Passaris, Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga and Dagotetti South MP John Kiarie are among leaders who were at the scene of the incident.

They all took a jibe at the contractor for doing a shoddy job.
