Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula have been dared to fold their individual political parties and form one party.
The challenge was made by the Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli who spoke at the Bukhungu BBI meeting.
Atwoli contended that the two leaders would only prove that they are serious about unity if they collapse the two parties into one.
''If Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi are serious about being together then they should fold their individual parties and form one party. (Moses Wetangula na Musalia Mudavadi kama wanasema wako pamoja tunaomba wavunje viama vyao Ford Kenya na ANC waunde chama kimoja), '' the COTU Secretary General said.
The two leaders have long resisted calls to form one party that will unite the people of Western Kenya.
The existence of many political parties from Western Kenya have been regarded as one of the hurdles that prevent people from the region from uniting.
While Ford Kenya has been around for quite some time, Musalia Mudavadi's party was formed in the lead up to the 2017 general elections.
The two parties still struggle in terms of parliamentary representation.
