A Kisii University student who was murdered in cold blood, Leah Momanyi was laid to rest on Sunday her parents holding the police to task over sluggish investigations.
Momanyi who was a fourth-year IT student was found dead in Kasarani on November 8. She had been raped and later strangled to death.
During the burial ceremony that was conducted at Nyanturago on Sunday, her family accused Sunton police of sleeping on their job.
"The killer or killers are eating and sleeping or even looking at us," a family member said.
They asked DCI boss George Kinoti to take up the matter. "We have hopes that our police will arrest the suspect or suspects."
The deceased had deferred her studies due to lack of fees and went to look for employment in Nairobi, where she secured a job at a wine and spirits shop.
An autopsy report indicated that she was raped, hit with a blunt object on the head and strangled.
