A fortnight ago, Dr Ruto was filmed scolding journalists at an event in Narok East constituency, a move that sparked criticism from a number of social media users.

In the function, Dr Ruto was heard asking press men to leave, and at some point, he told his security to move them away. He boldly said that he was not interested with them.

"These press men you're so many here, can some of you sit down? Get them to the back, let them move. I didn't come to talk to you, I came to speak to the people. Organise yourselves and stop disturbing us," he said.

And yet another audio has surfaced on social media, where a voice purportedly of DP is heard scolding news men for attending his function.

While the specific date cannot be established, the event was however taking place late in the evening. He is heard ordering journalists out of the event.

"We still have press men around? What are you doing here? What do you want? Get out of here. It's late in the night. Why do you follow us up to now? Get out of here boss," he said.

On Sunday, Dr Ruto accused Standard Group team of running an inaccurate story following his trip to Meru region. He had also dismissed The Star's headline last week.

"The headline of this article by the Standard Newspaper is misleading and sensationalist. It is clearly meant to cause disaffection and push a narrative that only the Standard knows. It is imperative that media should be guided by accuracy, truth and fair reporting," Ruto tweeted on Sunday.
