His landlord, United Millers, have since terminated its tenancy with Mr Owilli over rent arrears amounting to Sh3.5 million.

Through the property manager Vauxhull Holdings Limited, the DG will no longer be able to occupy the house over the huge debt.

In a letter dated July 25, the company warned that it would not be renewing the agreement should the rent not he paid by September 30, which is already due.

“We refer to our above captioned tenancy agreement expiring on September, 30, 2019 as per our record. We refer to the clause 3.1 (b) of the Agreement and hereby give notice of two calendar months and inform you in advance that as landlord it is unable to renew our agreement for any further period upon expiry of the above mentioned tenancy agreement," reads the letter to the county, as was seen by the Citizen Digital.

The company is demanding Sh273,855 for Owilli's stay, and another Sh3,233,250 as unpaid rent when former governor Jack Ranguma occupied the house.

The company further accused county Finance boss Nelly Achar for failing to keep his initial promise to clear the debt.

A similar scenario was seen in 2015 when Ranguma was forced to spend Sh20, 910,169 in a hotel, owing to ongoing renovations at the same house.

It was later revealed that the county at the same time continued paying the Sh540,000 monthly rent for the house.
