Student leaders in the country have been encouraged to pursue leadership related courses so as to enrich their leadership goals in society after university education.
The Principal, Nakuru Town Campus College of Egerton University Prof Lenah Nakhone said this when she addressed a group of outgoing Students Union officials and class representatives in her office Wednesday afternoon.
The principal, while congratulating the outgoing student leaders for a job well done, observed that modern professional leadership skills were necessary for any leader intending to continue serving society in leadership capacity.
“You have demonstrated that you have leadership talents and I urge you to pursue more your leadership dreams by undertaking leadership related courses available in various local and international institutions. You will realise that this was just a stepping stone for more leadership responsibilities once you finish university,” said Prof Nakhone.
Prof Nakhone further observed that many current national and organizational leaders and managers, had nurtured their leadership skills and talents while in schools, colleges and universities, and expressed confidence that the university would continue nurturing and producing leaders for the country.
