President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday left the country for Tanzania following a special invitation by his Tanzanian Counterpart John Pombe Magufuli.
In his speech, Uhuru insisted that there is a need for the two nations to work together for the sake of development.
Uhuru left Magufuli in stitches when he recounted the football Match between Harambee Stars and Taifa Stars.
He caused more laughter when he said that Taifa was lucky to have been beaten 2-0 compared to Kenya which lost 3-0 to Senegal.
"The other day we in Cairo. Everyone had their team. Harambee Stars versus Taifa Stars were there. I guess nobody slept on that day. But that is the norm in the field of sports. We won this time round Kenya defeated Taifa. However, you were lucky during the match against Senegal. You lost 2-0 and we lost 3-0," he said in part.
(Juzi tumechapana kule Cairo. Kila mtu na timu yake. Harambee Stars na Taifa Stars ndio wao huko nafikiri hiyo siku hakuna mtu alilala. Lakini hiyo ndio hali ya michezo jamani.Tulishindani safari hii Kenya ikagonga taifa. Lakini hata nyinyi mlifaidika wakati mlicheza Senegali nyinyi mlichapwa mbili sisi tulichapwa tatu).
Uhuru also assured Magufuli that his government will work with him as long as he remains in power.
