Sleuths from Nyamira Police descended the cabinet meeting in which Nyagarama was chairing, with instructions of the county boss.

Two ministers on Sunday gave exclusive details of what transpired, with one describing the incident as horrible and unprecedented given the manner in which it was conducted.

According to the minister, the sleuths ordered them to surrender phones fir scrutiny, despite the governor being present at the room.

"It caught me by surprise. I didn't know why our phones were being taken yet the governor was present. It was like a horror movie. I came to learn about the matter several minutes later," said the minister in confidence.

"It best logic. We have half several cabinet meetings yet nobody has ever recorded. I knew that the sleuths were misguided. We have a responsible cabinet," added another one.

After several minutes of search, the sleuths left the room without fulfilling their mission, leaving the ministers trying to establish what had happened.

But days later, it emerged that Governor John Nyagarama's voice was recorded by one of the confidants who he had called. He forgot to hang up.

The tenure of the current ministers is ending later this month, with Nyagarama already having advertised all the positions for fresh recruitment.
