The MP said Uasin Gishu being among the best performing counties in academics deserves a National Boys Secondary School.

“It's sad that we almost lost St Luke's Boys Cheptiret as our boys National Secondary school since the letter was ready but because of some misbehaviour of our children it was dropped,” said Dr Mishra.

Speaking in Seiyo Secondary on Friday during the disbursement of bursary cheques, the first-term lawmaker said all is not lost and he will ensure the school's status is elevated.

“I am working with other education stakeholders to ensure this is achieved sooner than later," he affirmed.

The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (Kuppet) Uasin Gishu Secretary General Elijah Maiyo had earlier called on the Ministry of Education to construct one National Boys school in the county.

He wondered why despite the status being given to St Luke's Boys Cheptiret, nothing had been done.
