It takes a long painful process to establish a serious business empire, American televangelist and author Thomas Dexter 'T.D' Jakes on Friday told entrepreneurs.

Jakes spoke at the 2019 Soar Summit held at the Kasarani Indoor Arena on Friday, where he was the chief guest after landing in the country on Tuesday night.

He warned young business people against expecting quick successes, advising them to instead identify a problem the society is facing and provide just that if they are to succeed.

“There is something to be respected about the process. The process is invaluable,” he said, further challenging Kenyan entrepreneurs to put their fiery nature in social media to use.

"I wonder if you can market yourself with the same intensity,” he added.

He also stressed on the need for elimination of corruption, especially in Kenya.

According to Jakes, there is also a need for African nations to collaborate with each other to better the sector.

The advise came amid complaints from some notable Kenyans, including former Presidential Aspirant James ole Kiyiapi who has questioned the Sh7,000 tickets for one to attend the summit.
