Victor Swanya who unsuccessfully ran for the Kitutu Masaba constituency MP seat during August 8, 2017, polls supports the bill saying Kenyans should not be burdened paying huge taxes for few individuals to earn monthly salaries.

"I support Thirdway Alliance leader Ekuro Aukot's Punguza Mzigo Bill because the bill aims at reducing the burden for Kenyans. Kenyans should not go for a referendum to create positions in government to absorb individuals with greedy intentions," said Swanya.

He maintained that Kenyans need to support the Punguza Mzigo Bill since elective seats will be scrapped.

Swanya appealed to County Assembly Members to side with Ekuro Aukot's Punguza Mzigo Bill given that the Bill does not scrap MCA seats.

"My appeal to MCAs in counties is that they should rally being Ekuro Aukot's Punguza Mzigo Bill to ensure it passes so that Kenyans can go for a referendum for unnecessary elective seats to be scrapped and the huge monies being paid to politicians be diverted to development projects across the country," he noted.

The Swanya Foundation chairman spoke on Friday in Malindi village, West Mugirango.
