Political analyst Herman Manyora has predicted doom for the Thirdway Alliance Party's referendum push dubbed 'Punguza Mizigo'.
The Ekuru Aukot led-party had since received the green light to take the Bill to the county assemblies after the approval of its 1.2 signatures by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Thursday.
However, Manyora now says that the bid will not sail past the county assemblies and will not get the minimum 24 county assemblies backing.
Speaking on Saturday, he predicted a situation where President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga will use their power to fight the same, as it comes as a hindrance to their separate referendum bid.
He observed that the two will ensure that the bid is shot down in their strongholds, predicting a situation where it will suffer losses in all the counties in Raila's Nyanza bedrock.
"Will the counties in the former Nyanza province vote and go against Baba? Will the Siaya MCAs vote? You have your answer, it is no," he said, adding that the same will be the case in Uhuru's Mt Kenya backyard.
He made the remarks on his YouTube political analysis channel Take It or Leave It.
According to the University of Nairobi professor, the two will most likely rally their troops on the ground to block it, predicting a situation where Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Amason Kingi (Kilifi) will frustrate it at the Coast.
The two are allies of Raila, who also enjoys backing in Kisii, Nyamira, and Western Kenya regions.
"You go to the Coast region and find the Sultan (Joho) together with the governor of Kilifi. I am sure a majority of the counties won't vote," he added, terming the bill 'dead on arrival'.
Raila and Uhuru who are pushing for an expansion of the government contrary to Aukot's push for lesser elective seats are, however, yet to weigh in on his initiative.
