Speaking during a tv interview, Duale reminded the critics that they were still civil servants and there they should be careful while criticizing the second in command.

He further advised the critics to learn from history where efforts by civil servants to criticize and interfere with top officials have been fruitless.

"But I would like to tell that according to the constitution, they should be very careful. They are still civil servants (Lakini ningewaambia, kulingana na katiba, wachunge line yao hawa ni wafanyakazi wa umma)," Duale stated

According to Duale, some of the critics had become confident enough to criticize DP Ruto after probably meeting with the president or rising in the social or political status.

"You know the problem is that one becomes arrogant after beginning to receive two to three phone calls in a day, or meet the president. So they think they can step on people (Unajua shida ni ile kiburi ikikuingia ukipata simu mbili tatu kwa siku ama umekutana na rais wewe unafikiri utakanyaga watu)," Duale added.

Duale is a close ally of DP Ruto. He has on several occasions come out to defend Ruto and even declared to support his presidential bid.

The Jubilee party has in recent days been alleged to be divided into two with some supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta and other supporting Deputy President William Ruto.
