This is after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Dispute Resolution Tribunal cleared him to contest in the Kibra by elections.

"Jubilee party nominee MacDonald Mariga who was today cleared by the Dispute Resolution Committee to vie for the Kibra MNA by election has been issued with a nomination certificate by the Returning officer #byelections2019," said IEBC.

The IEBC tribunal chaired by IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati on Monday reversed Mariga's disqualification.

The tribunal noted that Mariga is a registered voter only that his details were missing on the KIEMS kit.

"The IEBC Dispute Resolution Committee has reversed the verdict of the Kibra Returning Officer and has allowed Mr. Mariga to run in the Kibra MNA by election on 7th November, 2019," said IEBC.

They also noted that he will be included in the list of candidates cleared to vie in the Kibra by elections.

"Mr. Mariga will be included in the list of candidates running for the Kibra by election," added IEBC.

Mariga will now start his campaigns in Kibra.

He will contest against ODM's Imran Okoth. Jubilee and ODM are considered favorites for the Kibra's MP seat.
