Suna East MP Junet Mohammed has claimed that they no longer criticise the government because it was delivering on its mandate.
According to Junet, the opposition had nothing to criticise because the government was doing a good job.
In a video shared on Facebook, the lawmaker further asserted that the war on corruption has been stepped up unlike in the past. He said that the thieves are being arrested and prosecuted without bias.
The MP who is a close ally of ODM leader Raila Odinga further observed that tangible development progress had been witnessed across the country while citing the availability of water as an example of development brought about by the government.
"Nimekuwa nikisikia watu kwa magazeti wakisema siku hizi hakuna opposition, opposition wamelala. Sasa, kama kazi inaendelea vizuri, wezi wanashikwa, maendeleo inaendelea, maji iko na rais anafanya kazi. Sasa tupinge nini?" (People have been reporting on newspapers that the opposition has slept on their job. Now, if the government is working, thieves are being arrested, there is progress in development projects, water is available and the president is working, so what do we criticise?), wondered Junet.
The ODM director of elections dismissed allegations that the opposition was meant to oppose anything done by the government even if it was good.
He noted that President Uhuru Kenyatta was performing his duties as expected.
"Tulikuwa tukipinga saa zile mambo ni mabaya". (We were criticising when things go wrong), he said.
The vocal ODM MP insisted that arresting of graft abators and beneficiaries of stolen money as well as the evidence of a workaholic president and the super CS Fred Matiang'i, showed that things were going on well.
