Tanzanian singer Harmonize's latest hit song 'Uno' video has been pulled down from YouTube.
This comes barely a week after Kenyan celebrated producer Magix Enga had promised to have it deleted from the largest video sharing platform, YouTube.
Enga had accused Harmonize of stealing his beats. He asked the 'Kwangwaru' hitmaker to pull down the song to avoid the shame of doing it from his end, which entails reporting him to YouTube and Google for actions to be taken.
According to Magix Enga, several of his beats had been stolen before but did not launch any legal actions over the same.
"like nothing happened @harmonize_tz Gat some free beats for you bro .. I’m giving you 1 week take down the song otherwise.. Natoa mwenye let me put it in Swahili so that you can understand what I’m trying to say.. It took me a day to come up with the Vibe G you get 😏 #BeatKing254 🇰🇪 This sh* has happened before but this time things will be different .. i’m not going to allow that to happen not in 254,(sic)" Magix Enga had posted on Instagram.
Harmonize alleged stole beats for his Uno song from the viral song 'Dundaing' by King Kaka featuring Kristoff and the producer himself.
'Uno' video which was still among trending on YouTube Kenya, Tuesday, was missing on Wednesday, and the link Harmonize had shared on social media platforms was not working.
"Video unavailable This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by magix enga," the link said when clicked.
Moments after the song was deleted, Magix Enga again sounded a similar warning that any artist stealing his beats will face the same consequences.
"1 Week Imeisha and The song Uno is no longer on YouTube Don’t sample magix Enga Beats. I repeat, dont! Like I said i’m not going to allow this to happen not in 254 🇰🇪 (sic)," he posted.
Harmonize is yet to respond.
