Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has poked holes in the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
Speaking during an interview with NTV on Monday, Khalwale claimed ODM has hijacked the report. He argued that the party led by Raila Odinga wants to use the report to reinvent itself.
He noted that the report has nothing to do with Kenyan citizens but the succession of President Uhuru Kenyatta come 2022.
"ODM wants to politically reinvent themselves that is why they are running with this BBI agenda?" he asked.
The former Senator who has pledged to support Deputy President William Ruto for presidency, said that BBI team must reconsider the popularisation strategy of the report.
"If BBI is to achieve inclusivity then what we saw in Mumias was wrong. We chose to hold a forum in Mumias and we were conscious that it was 38 kilometers away from Bukhungu. There is no way attendance would have clashed," he said.
He also faulted police for the cancellation and chaos witnessed in Mumias on Saturday during the second leg of BBI consultative forum at Kakamega's Bukhungu Stadium.
The vocal politician said that what happened in Mumias is an indication that Kenyans are not ready to tolerate each other's views.
