Rap royalty Marshal Bruce Mathers, better known by his onstage moniker Eminem, has come under blistering criticism over the lyrics of his track 'Unaccomodating' off his new album 'Music to be Murdered by''.
A section of listeners have taken issue with the comparison that Eminem makes between himself and a bomber, who detonated a bomb after an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester in 2017.
In addressing his feud with Machine Gun Kelly, another rapper, Eminem appears to make light of the Manchester bombing.
“But I’m contemplating yelling ‘bombs away’ on the game / Like I’m outside of an Ariana Grande concert waiting, " he raps as quoted by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
The lyrics have left a bad taste in the mouths of families whose loved ones lost their lives in the suicide bombing.
Figen Murray, who lost her son in the 2017 Manchester bombing, took to Twitter to register her displeasure.
"Feels like he is piggybacking on the fame of Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber and says distasteful things about other celebrities,” she wrote on Twitter as quoted by the Guardian Newspaper. “Not clever. Totally pointless. And before all Eminem fans pounce on me, I am not interested and will not engage," she added.
Other Twitter users disparaged the lyrics as a disgusting attempt at getting attention.
