A lady who works as a county clerk in Embu was last night attacked at the Thika main stage by unknown people and lost all her belongings.
Agnes Mutio, 27, was coming to meet a friend and arrived in Thika town at around 10pm when she decided to find a taxi.
According to her, she went to where she could see some tuktuks parked and before she even got there, a gang of four men appeared and blocked her forcing her to surrender everything g worth about Sh150,000.
Mutio said she had a laptop worth Sh60,000, two phones worth Sh10,000 and 15,000 respectively and Sh25,000 in cash among other items.
Thika OCPD Shadrack Maithya said that the cases of insecurity are on the rise and they are doing everything possible to curb them.
“It is disappointing to see such a respectable lady losing her belongings in Thika and we could not help her get them. We will prosecute anyone found to be involved in such cases,” Maithya said.
Maithya said the lower part of Majengo estate is gang’s hiding and operation den.
“We are aware of where they hide and we will get them. We urge anyone with information about these criminals to get to us and assist,” he urged.
The police are probing the matter hoping to recover the stolen items.
