Thika Water and Sewerage Company managing director Kenneth Njoroge has revealed that the company has reduced water loss in the sub-county by undertaking major repair works.
Some of the repairs include sealing leaks and burst water pipes which caused incessant water shortages in the pineapple growing sub-county.
Njoroge who was speaking at the company’s headquarters in Thika town on Sunday said the company will continue dealing with the problems to ensure reliable water supply to residents.
“The inspection team has replaced burst pipes and still checking the system for any faults. We want to address any issue as fast as possible and I am also appealing to the public to pay their bills on time to reduce the chances where the water is disconnected,” said Njoroge.
He said that water wastage was mainly due to burst water pipes.
Njoroge assured that residents will get consistent water supply at reduced charges due to the changes realised in the company’s service delivery charter.
Kiambu county Water executive officer Esther Njuguna said they will ensure more residents have access to clean water as soon as possible.
“We will make sure that all people in the county can access clean water. We are very committed to ensuring that hygiene and health of the residents is well taken care of,” Njuguna said.
