Wahome, who is DP Ruto's ally, has been seen echoing what the DP has been saying lately, including the push to have the BBI report passed through Parliament.

Speaking on Monday, she said that her stand on the debate is her own.

"The debate on whether it should go to Parliament or a referendum is a sign of disunity. What I am speaking is attached to me it has nothing to do with the DP," she said.

She made the remarks during NTV's AM Live show on Monday morning, where she also dismissed National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi over his remarks on the issue on Sunday.

This is after the Speaker expressed lack of confidence in Parliament being entrusted with passing the document, and instead rooted for a referendum.

Wahome noted that this will have no effect on the BBI being taken to the House, saying that Parliament is not bound by what is said out of the House.

"Parliament is not bound by what the Speaker says outside the chamber. He should not have expressed himself like he is making a decision regarding the process ever coming to the House," she added.
