Nakuru County Assembly on Friday approved Sh373 million supplementary budget for the financial year 2019/2020.

The money approved will be used by the county government to purchase and employ more than 200 workers on a contractual basis. 

A total of 304 pre-primary teacher and 55 youth instructors will be employed as Sh23 million have been allocated for this course.

 Infrastructure, Water, Environment, Energy and Natural Resources will also have new workers.

The supplementary budget is also said to have received a boost from different donors in the country.  

Among them are the World Bank Health Services Universal care Conditional allocation which gave them Sh37 million,  Agricultural Sector Development Support Projects (Sh3 million) and Conditional Fund- Kenya Urban Support Projects that gave them Sh9 million.  

The county also received additional funding from Kenya Devolution Support Program Sh30 million, World Bank National Agricultural and Rural Inclusive Growth Projects Sh210 million and grants Danish Development Agency Sh10 million.

The county also plans to expand Njoro Health Centre at a tune of Sh23 million while construction of Kamara, Kinamba, Kuresoi North markets have been allocated Sh30 million.

The office of the governor got Sh6.5 million for donations and to enhance foreign trips and domestic travels. 

Further, Sh10 million was also allocated to the governor's office to cater for student bursaries and research.
