Kenya national football team Harambee Stars has emerged third in the CECAFA tournament, after hammering Taifa Stars of Tanzania 2-1, in third place playoffs at KCCA Lugogo stadium in Uganda.
Gor Mahia midfielder Kenneth Muguna scored Stars' first goal in the 15th minute, before Bandari striker Hassan Abdallah added a second goal in the 35th minute.
Gadiel Kamagi scored Tanzania's consolation goal in the 82nd minute.
This is the second time Kenya has beaten Tanzania in the tournament, as the two sides clashed during the group stages.
Stars, who are the defending champions, were kicked out of the final after being thrashed by Eritrea 4-1.
Eritrea is set to face Uganda in the final where a new CECAFA champion will be crowned.
