Police in Eldoret have arrested 3 suspects alleged to have been involved in the repackaging and selling of fake medicine and agrochemicals in Kasarani Langas Estate.
According to Uasin Gishu County Commander Johnston Ipara, this is after police got a tip-off from the public which led to their arrest.
“On Tuesday we carried out the operation in Kasarani, Langas Estate in a home of Dominick Mwangi inside the house we found that he was involved in the repackaging agro-chemicals, human medicine, farm inputs and animal feeds which had expired,” said the County Commander.
Speaking to the press at Langas Police Station on Wednesday Ipara said the products were harmful and were not fit for both human beings and animals.
“Three suspects were arrested one in Langas and two in Eldoret town in an Agrochemical outlet called Chepkinoyo Agrovet next to Maggie’s Hotel, ” Ipara added.
The County Commander reiterated that the three will be taken to court and charged with among others unlawful possession of the medical product, unlawful carrying of business without license, carrying out the business of Pharmacy in a premise that is not registered among other.
Ipara gave a warning to those involved in the business that their days are numbered and soon they will be arrested and charge since he cannot stay mum while the life of Kenyans is in danger.
