Nyeri town member of parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu has continued his onslaught on Deputy President William Ruto amid the openly witnessed division within the ruling Jubilee party.
Responding to Ruto's call for a truce and unity in Jubilee, Ngunjiri Wambugu accused the second in command for being behind the division in the party.
Taking to Facebook, the outspoken legislator accused the DP of attempting to overpower Jubilee's party leader and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"As it is Ruto is the principal cause of the division that exists in the Jubilee Party after he tried to run a coup against the Party Leader Uhuru Kenyatta. He continues to undermine the Party Leader at every point & behaves as if he’s not answerable to anyone; his Boss included," read part of Ngunjiri's post on Facebook.
Ngunjiri's sentiments come only a day after Deputy President William Ruto who was speaking during a church function in Kericho county urged Jubilee party members to embrace unity and avoid tribal based politics.
"I want to ask all Jubilee leaders to go back to the ideals which informed the formation of the party. We no longer want to hear the bickering and confrontational politics. We want to find a way of uniting all Kenyans," Ruto said on Sunday.
The legislator has been leading the famous 'Kieleweke' faction which is believed to be against Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential ambitions The group has been engaging in ugly public spats with their rivals as 2022 succession politics continue to take shape.
