Through Cabinet Secretary Keriako Tobiko, the Ministry has since given the settlers weeks to move out of the forest or be forcefully evicted, as part of the forest conservation campaign.

But the ex-Subukia MP has taken issue with the CS for only victimizing helpless Kenyans, yet there are other notable politicians owning thousands of hectares land in the same forest.

Speaking on Saturday, he claimed that former President Daniel Moi too owns a whole tea estate in the forest, and should be the one Tobiko begins with on his way down.

He claimed that founding father Mzee Jomo Kenyatta's family too owns forest lands in other parts of the country, and should also be dealt with before victimizing poor Kenyans.

"Let Tobiko evict Moi and Kenyatta before evicting the others if he is indeed a man (Tobiko kama ni mwanaume afurushe Moi, kisha Kenyatta, ndio afurushe hawa wadogo)," he said.

The former Assistant Cabinet Minister made the remarks during an interview on Radio Sauti Ya Mwananchi's Cheche show on Saturday evening.

He claimed that the Kenyans being targeted were given small pieces of land by top politicians to justify their (the politicians) acquisition of land in the forest.

He also bashed the Kenyans for accepting the offer, noting that they are now suffering and are set for losses yet the persons who lured them into the forests appear to be on the safer side.

"Marais Kenyatta na Moi walichukua mashamba katika misitu kisha wakaleta wakenya wakawapa mashamba madogo madogo," he added.

This translated to; "Presidents Kenyatta and Moi took pieces of land in the forests and then brought in Kenyans and gave them small portions."

The first round of the evictions was heavily condemned by Kalenjin politicians, who have also raised concerns about the planned repeat.
