The billionaire allegedly funded two presidential candidates, 10 governors and dozens of MPs and MCAs during the last general election. The wealthy businessman is wanted over suspected drug trafficking claims.

Detectives from the office of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) are now pursuing high profile Kenyans as they seek the unravel the mystery behind the increased cases of drug trafficking in different parts of the country especially the Coast region.

An officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the detectives are now investigating the politicians linked to the drug business in the country. The detective also said that the man is well connected. 

Detectives from the office of the DCI and police raided the home of the businessman where they arrested his wife and two foreigners over the illegal business. 

Police are seeking to determine the kind of business the Nepalese and Indian arrested alongside the wife of the tycoon are conducting. 

“There were Nepalese and Indians inside that house. We obtained their travel documents and communication gadgets and established that they have been to other African countries before coming to Kenya. We have been piecing together information to establish the kind of businesses they are in and their link with the suspect,” the source said yesterday.
