Political analyst Dennis Anyonka has said that the ban of politics in Catholic Churches might help tame political fights and exchanges that have been seen on the pulpit lately.
The church last week also announced that it will not be accepting cash donations exceeding Sh50,000 unless its source can be explained beyond doubt.
Speaking on Monday, Anyonka said that the new rule will most likely tame the situation, as politicians have been misusing their access to the pulpit.
"Politicians have become mischievous, they have been using the opportunity to engage in dirty and abusive politics (Wanasiasa wamekuwa watukutu, wamekuwa wakitumia hiyo fursa kupiga siasa chafu na ya matusi)," he said.
He made the remarks on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha on Monday morning, where he observed that the group has been acting cool until they get hold of the microphone.
According to Anyonka, it is here where they go wild, well aware that they can no longer be controlled.
"You know once you get hold of the microphone it's not easy for anyone to control what you are saying (Unajua unapopata microphone si rahisi mtu kucontrol kile ambacho unasema)" he added.
He also observed that the church might have been responding to last month's incident where Nominated MP Maina Kamanda and Kiharu lawmaker Ndindi Nyoro almost exchanged blows at the Gitui church in Kiharu.
