Many business people, especially cyber café operators, operating within the town have praised the move.

James Kamande, a cyber café owner, said that they are sure to make more money as the fast speed of the fibre optic internet will attract more clients.

“We will be able to deliver to our customers more efficiently and be able to compete freely with our competitors who had installed the connections earlier,” he said.

“One cannot even use Skype effectively when using a modem,” Kamande added.

Our efforts to talk with the company’s personnel were unsuccessful.

This has been seen as a chance to grow Thika to a digital town as even the sub-county headquarters have been installed with the internet connection, thus promising quality service delivery to area residents.
