Ronny Rono, a bodybuilder from Nakuru has died after several health complications after he allegedly injected himself with Synthol injection that is used by bodybuilders to boost their muscles temporarily.
The family's spokesperson, Hilda Cherono, has verified his death which took place while rushing him to Siloam Hospital. She said that Rono depended on Well-wishers for his medication.
"He was admitted at Green View hospital for two weeks before being discharged. Until his demise, he was in an out of various hospitals for medical tests and was also being attended by a private doctor within Kericho town," she said as quoted by The Standard.
His arms had wasted away and his body was swollen that when he saw himself on a mirror, he busted into tears. Doctors claim that he had used Synthol.
Before he died, he had denied claims that he had used Synthol injection. However, he said that someone might have injected him with it. He said that a small swelling developed in his right arm before spreading to his chest. He went for a biopsy and doctors could not identify his ailment.
“I do not have a memory of everything I might have done,” he said then.
Rono's funeral will be held at Chemosot Village in Bureti constituency on December 3, 2019 as indicated by the family spokesperson.
