Two police officers who had been arrested after they were associated with a robbery with violence incident were on Wednesday arraigned before Kibra Law Courts.
In a tweet, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) noted that the two officers; Constable Job Anyona and Corporal Timothy Ouma appeared before a magistrate and they were charged with robbery with violence.
The DCI said that the duo denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of Sh100,000 each or a bond of Sh200,000 each.
"The Two @NPSOfficial_KE officers were arraigned before Kibera Law Courts today & charged with the offence of Robbery w/Violence. They pleaded not Guilty & were given Cash bail of Ksh. 100K each or a bond of Ksh. 200K each," read part of the tweet.
DCI Milimani and Special Crimes Police Unit (SCPU) detectives had arrested corporal Timothy Auma of Mathare Administration Police (AP) camp in a further probe that established that he was a co-conspirator in the crime involving Anyona and the company.
Detectives also arrested Job Anyona of Railways Police Station and other three civilians who were suspected of robbing a man of Sh20,000 by falsely arresting and forcing him to withdraw all his money at a Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) ATM booth.
The case will be mentioned on 13th January 2020.
