One of the suspect was nabbed on Tuesday and the other on Wednesday night, and are accused of sexually assaulting the two at Kojwang Sub Location in Rachuonyo North.

The police claim that the two are behind the rape of the women aged 30 and 64, in a region that has been recording a high number of crime incidences lately.

The arrest was confirmed by Homa Bay County Deputy Commander Samuel Obara, who while speaking in Mariwa in the same location, said that they will be arraigned on Friday.

The arrests come at a time when the five villages of the sub-location have been recording increasing harassments against widows and women whose husbands are not around.

The police boss said that the duo is being held at the Kendu Bay Police Station ahead of their presentation in court.

This comes barely two months after another group of three men was arrested in the same county over allegation of gang raping a woman in Rangwa Village in Suba South.

The act was allegedly done on a 48-year-old woman, who the suspects were also accused of assaulting after raiding her house, before robbing her of her money and phone.
