Villagers have forced a family of of 22 members headed by David Ouma Oguna to seek for refuge at a police station after burning down their home.

The family is currently seeking refuge at Homa Bay Police Station after two of its members were lynched on Friday.

Two sons of Mr Oguna were lynched in Kamenya location near Nyangweso Trading Centre in Rangwe, Homa Bay County on Friday.

The brothers were accused of roberdistabilizing the village by conducting robberies.

The last Friday morning incident was triggered by bodaboda riders who led the torching and burning of eight houses belonging to the four suspects.

Their livestock was also torched and killed by the irate mob.

The villagers accused the late Daniel Ojijo and Evans Onyango of being behind the killing of Gordon Asewe that happened three weeks ago in the area.

The villagers told this wroter that the two were said to be having criminal related cases in court.

The family is now appealing for food donations from well-wishers.

Homa Bay Police Boss Esau Ochorokodi said that the police are investigating the incident.
