A man charged with threatening to kill his uncle has been released on a Sh10,000 cash bail and a surety of a similar amount by a Kiambu court.
Ian Ngure Kariuki appeared before principal magistrate Charity Oluoch and charged with the offence which is contrary to section 223(1) of the penal code.
The court heard that the accused, on September 6 at Gachie, Kiambu County uttered the words, “I will kill you and dump you in a septic tank” to threaten his uncle Oliver Karongo.
The prosecution told the court that on the material day, the accused met the complainant at Chemka road while drunk and started hurling insults at him. The complainant reported the matter to his brother who sort help from the police. The accused was arrested and held by the police and later transferred to Gigiri police station.
The court also heard that the accused was aggrieved by his uncle who had earlier reported him to his father when he was found stealing from the uncle.
Kariuki denied the charges and his case will be mentioned on September 26 and heard on November 18.
